Perinatal & Postpartum Support Group
Free Emotional Virtual Support Groups for pregnant women, and women struggling with mood and anxiety issues during and after delivery.
Research shows that nearly one in seven women experience mood or anxiety problems during pregnancy and after delivery. It is very common for moms to get the "baby blues," a two-week period where new mothers have mood swings, exhaustion, sleep problems and crying spells. If the baby blues worsen or last longer than two weeks after giving birth, a woman may have a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder, which are common and treatable. Know that you are not alone. Motherhood can be hard, but it does not have to be lonely.
Mamas Circle is designed to support the one in seven women who will experience depression and other mood and anxiety disorders before, during and after pregnancy. Through screening, and peer-to-peer support, this program reaches both pregnant and postpartum mothers and promotes healthy moods, stress management, and bonding strategies with babies. Mamas Circle uses the Mothers & Babies curriculum, a stress management intervention that provides pregnant women and new moms with specific skills and strategies to manage stress in their lives.
Groups are held on Wednesdays, 6:00pm-7:30pm
